  3.                               THE AMERICAN DREAM
  4.  
  5.               It's been  awhile but can you remember what the American
  6.          dream has always been?  For a man and wife  to own  their own
  7.          home, with  or without the proverbial white picket fence, and
  8.          to own a car.  The man is the only one who has to work, while
  9.          the wife  takes care  of the home and children.  Another part
  10.          of the dream was to be capable of making enough money so some
  11.          could be  saved for  the future.  To be able to take a summer
  12.          vacation away from home was high on the list also.
  13.               Remember?  It wasn't  too long  ago .  . .  but what has
  14.          happened to  that dream?   The  biggest fault has to lie with
  15.          us, yes, you and me.   We did  not watch  what the government
  16.          has been  doing through the years since that dream was a part
  17.          of our future.
  18.               If you were like I  was,  we  all  assumed  that  we had
  19.          honest and  honorable men in our government.  Time to wake up
  20.          and smell the coffee!   Being  with the  government is  now a
  21.          license to  steal.  They have become so skillful at stealing,
  22.          they now  pass laws  making it  legal.   (For  themselves, of
  23.          course.  Pay raises are a good example.)
  24.               Power and  might have  now become  a right for the feds.
  25.          They have the power and might on their side and whatever they
  26.          decide  to  do  they  feel  is  their right.  We hear flowery
  27.          statements by the Attorney General  about  the  'rule  of law
  28.          being the glue which holds a society together . . . we cannot
  29.          tolerate lawlessness . . . criminals will be  apprehended and
  30.          punished'  and  so  forth.    It's  all window dressing . . .
  31.          eyewash . . . gobbledygook .  . .  a stage  play to  make you
  32.          believe  government  is  doing  everything  legal and for our
  33.          benefit.
  34.               Now let's take  a  look  at  some  things  in  which our
  35.          government is  involved which  are designed  to further lower
  36.          our standard  of living.   We  mentioned some  of the illegal
  37.          'independent  government   agencies'  in   a  chapter  titled
  38.          Regulations.  One in particular is doing a number on  our way
  39.          of life . . . purposefully!  It's called the Overseas Private
  40.          Investment Corporation.  (One  of  these  damnable government
  41.          corporations for which there is no constitutional authority.)
  42.          It's independent yet under  the  control  of  the  Agency for
  43.          International Development.
  44.               They are both technically under the State Department but
  45.          in reality, they  are  under  the  direct  control  of little
  46.          George  Bush.    You  remember  little  George . . . he's the
  47.          mouthpiece for the big movers and  shakers behind  the scenes
  48.          who are actually running the show.  (I don't believe this guy
  49.          ever had an original thought in his entire life.)
  50.              What I am about to relate comes from  a newspaper article
  51.          written by  two investigative reporters from the Philadelphia
  52.          Inquirer.    The  article  is  called,  'America,  What  Went
  53.          Wrong?'.   It has  been reproduced  and is available from the
  54.          For The People Bookstore in  White  Springs,  Florida.   This
  55.          article should  be required  reading for every American . . .

  57.          You will get an eyeful of the behind-the-scenes  practices of
  58.          our government.   If  these articles don't make you angry and
  59.          make you want to do something . . . well . .

  70.               Now, back to our crooked government . .  . this Overseas
  71.          Private Investment  Corporation (OPIC)  is "a self-sustaining
  72.          US Government agency whose  purpose  is  to  promote economic
  73.          growth  in   developing  countries   by  encouraging  private
  74.          investment in these nations."  Sounds great, doesn't it?
  75.               To carry out this mission, Congress  mandated that what-
  76.          ever operation  OPIC undertakes,  it should not injure the US
  77.          economy by its actions.   Yea,  sure!    Their  intent  is to
  78.          completely destroy  our industrial base and to hell with what
  79.          congress says.  And they are doing a number on us . . . 
  80.               OPIC is doing its best to  move US  industry out  of the
  81.          country  and  using  our  tax  money  to accomplish it.  Look
  82.          around and see how much of the garment  industry is  still in
  83.          production.   There are  idle plants  all around the country.
  84.          Now reports  are surfacing  on TV  that China  is shipping in
  85.          clothing  exceeding  their  allotted  quota.  It's simple . .
  86.          they ship the garment items to another country like Nicaragua
  87.          where the  shipments are labelled 'Made in Nicaragua'.  Since
  88.          they have no quota, this Chinese stuff flows in like water.
  89.               The government is well aware of  this yet  little George
  90.          still  gives  China  special  trading  privileges.   Favorite
  91.          trading status, I think they call it.  What nonsense . . . we
  92.          have thousands  of garment workers out of work and yoyo gives
  93.          them special status  and  ignores  the  fact  they  are doing
  94.          whatever  they  want  to  get  clothing  into the US.  Did he
  95.          become beholden to the Chinese when he was US Liaison Officer
  96.          to China in 1974-75?  Something really smells with this.
  97.               The world  was horrified  at the murder of young Chinese
  98.          students at Tiananmen Square by the  Chinese Army.   Pictures
  99.          of one  man preventing the passage of a tank column were seen
  100.          around the world.  Americans are  outraged.   And rightly so.
  101.          Any criticism of the Chinese government from Washington draws
  102.          angry replies from Biejing.  
  103.               Then a high level  delegation from  DC, led  by National
  104.          Security  Advisor   Scowcroft,  appears  on  TV  begging  the
  105.          Communist butchers  to  again  deal  with  Washington  and US
  106.          businessmen.    Finally  the White House admits Scowcroft has
  107.          been secretly in China months earlier.   Why  should we allow
  108.          the murder of 3000 or more young students stand in the way of
  109.          fruitful  negotiations  with  a  bunch  of  maniacs?   Little
  110.          George doesn't  worry too  much about the massacre as long as
  111.          
  112.          the 'body count' isn't  too  high.    3000  out  of  a couple
  113.          hundred million  people is  not bad as long as you're not one
  114.          of them.  After all, money is money.
  115.               Another industry which has  been  clobbered  .  .  . the
  116.          citrus industry.   Our tax dollars has been used to subsidize
  117.          the industry in central  America.   What are  these people at
  118.          OPIC  doing?    Using  our  money to destabilize our economy.
  119.          With friends like this, who needs  enemies?   Yet one  of the
  120.          mandates from  Congress was  that any economy in a developing
  121.          country which is  helped  should  not  cause  our  economy or
  122.          industrial  base  to  suffer.    So  much  for  congressional
  123.          oversight. 
  124.               If  an  individual  calls  an  outfit  called  the Small
  125.          Business  Administration  (SBA)  for  help,  it's basically a
  126.          joke.  The red  tape, paper  work and  stumbling blocks makes
  127.          receiving financial help nearly impossible.  It used to be if
  128.          you were a female of a so called minority group,  help was as
  129.          near as your telephone.  Not so anymore.  It appears that the
  130.          only ones being helped by the  SBA are  the employees  of the
  131.          agency.
  132.               If you  own a  business and  want to  move it out of the
  133.          country, call OPIC and  they will  send a  limousine for you.
  134.          They advertise  in investment  magazines looking for business
  135.          owners and managers who are interested in finding workers for
  136.          only 57  cents an  hour.  (Yet Congress can order an American
  137.          business to pay a  certain minimum  wage?)   That is  not the
  138.          only prospect for higher profit they will receive, tax breaks
  139.          are all over the scene.
  140.               Let's take a look at  another  industry  which  has been
  141.          ravished  .  .  .  the  pharmaceutical industry.  Many of the
  142.          large companies have moved entire plants to Puerto Rico.  Now
  143.          let's see  how tax  breaks work  . .  . Congress has passed a
  144.          special tax break package for industries  who move  to Puerto
  145.          Rico.   Actually, it's  a huge tax shelter for large corpora-
  146.          tions who eliminate jobs in America and  set up  shop in  our
  147.          possessions.  It's called a possession tax credit.  According 
  148.          to Treasury Department data, (from the articles America- What
  149.          Went  Wrong)  companies  claiming  the  possession tax credit
  150.          escaped payment of $14 billion  in  income  taxes  during the
  151.          1980s.    Hey,  guess  who  makes  that up?  See why they es-
  152.          tablished the IRS to hound you  and to  steal your  homes and
  153.          property?
  154.               Look at  this from  another angle  . . . which is also a
  155.          major problem.   Thousands and thousands of jobs for American
  156.          citizens  have  been  eliminated when these corporations move
  157.          their operations out of the country.   People  who worked for
  158.          these outfits  20 and  30 years are suddenly unemployed.  How
  159.          do you cope with that?   How do  you manage  to pay  for your
  160.          home and  living expenses?  What happens if a serious illness
  161.          occurs?
  162.               For many, the  retirement  plans  and  funds  which were
  163.          supposedly set up are now nonexistent . . . bad management or
  164.          worse and these people are left high and dry.   What a crock!
  165.          Most of  these problems can be traced back to the illegal and
  166.          
  167.          behind  the  scene  operation   of  government  corporations,
  168.          agencies, commissions  and so  forth.   There is NO constitu-
  169.          tional permission for any of this garbage.   There is nothing
  170.          to prevent  a corporation  from moving out of the country but
  171.          there damn  sure  is  a  prohibition  against  using  our tax
  172.          dollars to finance and guarantee the move.
  173.               This is  our country  . .  . this  is our government and
  174.          they are really doing a number on us!
  175.               Sad part is,  so many powers have been seized which were
  176.          not  granted  to  the  federales  and we have not been taught
  177.          the true meaning  and basis  for our government.  Most people
  178.          assume  what is  going on  is legal.  Hey, if congress passes
  179.          a law, it must be OK .  . .  they must  know  what  they  are
  180.          doing.
  181.               Yea, they  know what  they are  doing .  . . it's called
  182.          being screwed by our government!
  183.               Generally, after reading what is actually  going on, you
  184.          might  feel  more  safe  and  secure  when congress is not in
  185.          session.  That would be true if the  executive branch  of our
  186.          government  wasn't  able  to  make law through regulations by
  187.          simply publishing them in the Federal Register.  What's going
  188.          on and what they are doing to us is nearly unbelievable.
  189.               Let's read the Tenth Amendment again . . . 
  190.  
  191.               THE POWERS  NOT DELEGATED TO THE  UNITED STATES BY THE  
  192.               CONSTITUTION, NOR PROHIBITED BY IT TO  THE STATES,  ARE 
  193.               RESERVED TO THE STATES RESPECTIVELY, OR TO THE PEOPLE.

  195.               Plain language,  isn't it?   Why  can't little George or
  196.          those yoyo's in Congress understand it?  Ignorance of the law
  197.          is no  excuse but  that's only  for our  benefit, not theirs!
  198.          Washington has  gone so  far beyond  the basic  grant for the
  199.          government that  now they  feel they can tell us what the law
  200.          is . . . yet this is our government, not theirs.
  201.               Unless we get after them and force all  of them  to obey
  202.          our  basic  charter,  the  future  is  very  bleak.  All this
  203.          nonsense is not going to get better, it's going to get worse.
  204.          The  old  saying  is  that  power corrupts and absolute power
  205.          corrupts absolutely.  It  doesn't take  an intellectual giant
  206.          to see how true that is today.
  207.               One more thought to ponder . . . millions of people  are
  208.          out of work  and many  due to  government  actions.  The Feds 
  209.          have extended unemployment payments  for 26 more  weeks which
  210.          takes them past elections.  What might happen  when all those
  211.          benefits  run  out and none  of the  unemployed can find jobs
  212.          because there are NO jobs?
  213.               THE TRAITOR IS ALREADY WITHIN THE GATES!
